Debt Ceiling First Principles

 

1) There is no link between the budget deficit, government debt and inflation other than in Republicans' imagination.


2) With respect to the debt ceiling, there is no urgency, that precludes deferring the matter of the debt 21 months, when GOP, will have the opportunity to win majorities in both houses and the presidency.  If successful they can enact most of their fiscal agenda either through 'regular order' or with the aid of the reconciliation process.

3) Why are Republicans so afraid of elections and voting?
